The Father in the story of the
Prodigal Son is the Heavenly Father. He eagerly desires you to enter into His embrace through Jesus. He awaits our return.
Allow yourself, like the prodigal son, to enter into the embrace of the Heavenly Father. Take time to rest in this Word from the Lord. As we move from reading to reflecting to talking about the Scripture with the Lord, allow yourself to just be. Receive His presence, just as if you were on the beach, lying out in the sun. Enter into His presence and just be there; rest your heart, rest you soul, rest your mind, rest your spirit. Sometimes the Lord will come in a wonderful way (like a Transfiguration moment) and other times you may just struggle to be present (picking up your cross and following Jesus). Regardless, it's important that we learn to rest in the Word and to yield to the movement of the Spirit when we pray.
God bless you. Rest in Him. The Father waits for you!
