Inspired by Cardinal Seán’s vision for a culture of evangelization and discipleship in the parishes of the Archdiocese, Tom Lyman joined the team as an Evangelization Consultant in Summer 2014. Tom has worked as a teacher of foreign languages and social studies in both Catholic and public high schools, as well as in historical tourism, university education abroad, and liturgical design consulting. In addition to a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. from Providence College, Tom studied abroad in Florence, Italy; Uppsala, Sweden; and Chicoutimi, Quebec Province. Lyman spent many years serving in Catholic young adult ministry in local parishes before spending time in formation at St. John’s Seminary, where he developed a strong foundation in theology, spirituality, liturgy, pastoral ministry, and sacred music. Married in September 2016, Tom and his wife love to enjoy time with family and friends, sing together in parish choirs, and explore New England’s beautiful landscapes, whether on foot, by kayak, or on skis.
Now living in Quincy, Tom grew up in Medway and Holliston, Mass., and is a native of St. Mary’s Parish in Holliston.
